Since there was no previous app, research focused on:

• Analysis of existing wellness and mental health apps

• Reviewing the website’s analytics to extract insights

• Studying habit‑forming interactions and micro‑engagements

• Defining moments where calm feedback is more important than data density

Insights showed users value gentle guidance, emotional validation, and flexible routines over rigid tracking.

Design for Inclusivity & Affordability

Because a core part of Strela’s mission is wellness for everyone, I made sure the design emphasized clarity, readability, and friendly interactions—nothing overly ornate or exclusive.

Accessibility and affordability influenced design decisions: clean typography, balanced contrast, straightforward layouts, and visual cues that guide but don’t intimidate.

The visual design is built around a soft, natural color palette with rounded shapes and gentle shadows to create a calm, welcoming atmosphere.

High contrast and generous spacing ensure accessibility, while subtle transitions help maintain a sense of visual breathing room throughout the experience.

Both light and dark modes were designed using design variables, allowing user preferences to be supported while maintaining brand consistency.

Reflections

Strela reinforced the importance of emotional design—where clarity, tone, and restraint are just as important as features. Designing for wellness meant designing with empathy at every step.
