Scalable Content Templates

Scalable Content Templates

Overview

This project focused on building a set of flexible templates for inRehearsal, a platform hosting live talks, courses, and events.

The Challenge

The Challenge

inRehearsal’s content library was scaling rapidly, but producing visuals for each new event required frequent design involvement. As the number of live talks and courses grew, maintaining visual consistency became increasingly difficult.

inRehearsal’s content library was scaling rapidly, but producing visuals for each new event required frequent design involvement. As the number of live talks and courses grew, maintaining visual consistency became increasingly difficult.

The core challenge was to enable non-designers to create high-quality, on-brand visuals independently—without sacrificing flexibility or visual quality. The system needed to support a wide range of speakers, topics, and formats while remaining easy to use and technically scalable.

Design Variables & Automation

Design Variables & Automation

Design variables played a key role in making the system scalable and reliable. By combining a defined set of gradient backgrounds, shape styles, and layout rules, the team could automatically generate hundreds of variations without manual design input.

Variables ensured consistency in color, contrast, spacing, and typography, making the system dependable even when used daily by non-designers.

System Thinking & Architecture

System Thinking & Architecture

Rather than designing individual thumbnails or one-off assets, the focus shifted toward building a flexible system.

Layouts were broken down into interchangeable components—such as speaker imagery, titles, badges, and background treatments—each governed by clear rules for spacing, hierarchy, and alignment.

This approach allowed the system to generate up to 399 unique visual variations while preserving a consistent, recognizable brand presence.

The final templates were intentionally designed for people without a design background. Controls were limited to safe customization zones, reducing decision fatigue while still allowing enough flexibility for different content types.

As a result, the inRehearsal team could confidently create event thumbnails and promotional visuals that always felt polished and on brand.

Landing Page Design

Landing Page Design

Alongside the system, I designed a highly visual landing page for one of inRehearsal’s courses.

Goals for the page:

The system significantly reduced the team’s reliance on design for everyday content creation while maintaining a high level of visual quality. Non-designers were able to produce professional event visuals quickly, supporting the rapid growth of live events and courses.

By focusing on scalability and consistency, the project delivered a reusable foundation that continues to support inRehearsal’s content strategy as the platform evolves.
